Both robots excel at cleaning up surface debris from carpets and hard floors, and they’re very adept at maneuvering around furniture and other obstacles. iAdapt navigation software creates smart maps of your home to help the i3+ navigate and clean efficiently. However, unlike the i7+ or other top-rated robots that we tested the i3+ does not have a feature for avoiding obstacles and therefore it could get stuck on things such as power cords or socks, and it may have trouble traversing transitions across surfaces like hardwood to rug.
iRobot suggests that you clear areas where the i3+ EVO will vacuum before you use it, and include putting away any clutter or toys it might encounter. You should also keep the dustbin and filters clean to prevent them from getting blocked. If the i3+’s internal bin is empty or the battery is not fully charged, it returns to the docking station and automatically empties the dirt into the station’s dust bin. It then continues cleaning from where it left off. The i3+ EVO’s battery lasts for approximately an hour and a half of continuous use. It takes about three hours to fully recharge.
2. iRobot i7+ Roomba
The iRobot i7+ is the top model in iRobot’s flagship line and is packed with the latest technology. It’s self-charging and self-navigating. However, the most important feature is the self-emptying bin. This will eliminate the need for regular maintenance.
The Roomba i7+ can keep up to 10 floor plans and their names using Imprint Smart Mapping, which allows it to map rooms so it can clean them more efficiently. It also works with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning tasks, and it can direct your robot using the app or by voice.
In our testing, the i7+ was faster and more maneuverable than our second-placed model, the eufy RoboVac G30, and it took large pieces of pet hair from all surfaces types, including carpeting. Its biggest advantage over the eufy it self-empties its dust bin that eliminates a major cause of maintenance and cuts down on the cost of maintenance.
We were also awestruck by the i7+’s compatibility Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We utilized these services to instruct the robot to begin, stop, or pause cleaning sessions, as well as to move around the room, and vacuum a particular area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ to these services. After being connected, to voice commands to the i7+ such as “Hey Alexa vacuum the master bedroom.” The iRobot Home app also provides options for managing the i7+’s settings and monitoring its performance.

This doesn’t mean that this model isn’t a good choice It’s lighter and more maneuverable than older cordless Dysons, and its vacuuming efficiency is superior on carpets with a low pile.
